SMI is working to liberate young Christian women in different areas of Pakistan and has successfully opened four sewing centers. Trained female teachers instruct the girls to knit and sew. The women are being taught how to sew women's clothing, such as the shalwar-kameez, which they then sell in the local communities. They keep 100% of the money. Because of these opportunities, girls and young women do not have to go to work at brick kilns or clean the distant houses of non-believers, as those are not safe jobs for young Christian women.
