SMI is working to liberate the Christians in different areas of Punjab, Pakistan, and has successfully opened a beauty school. This school has helped young Christian women in many ways. Girls are being trained to support their families through these learned skills. Because of these opportunities, girls and young women do not have to go to work at brick kilns or clean the distant houses of non-believers, as those are not safe jobs for young Christian women.
Under the instruction of a beauty salon owner, our girls are being taught the skills necessary to become a beautician. The skills currently being taught are:
- Wedding & Event Make-Up
- Hair Coloring
Not only are the girls being taught these in-demand job skills, but they also start off every class with a Bible study. They are learning that true beauty comes from the inside-out.
Henna body art is a traditional practice used in Pakistan for weddings and other special occasions.
